Jul 21, 2016 · If you are shooting a flintlock it is as primitive as it sounds. A rock (flint) hits a piece of steel to make a spark. That spark touches off a small charge of very fine powder that in turn sends fire through a small hole drilled in the barrel. The fire then ignites the main charge and the gun fires. 50 Cal 350Gr FPB (Per 15) The patented Flex Tip design delivers devastating terminal performance at any range. • Dec 12, 2013 · It shoots 4" high and 2" right with the first shot, second shot drops to 3" high and 1" right and all the others make one quarter size hole. I'm by far a weekend, one month shooter and I will NOT take that shot. If it means fouling the barrel to absolutely know where my bullet is going, that's what I have to do to KNOW and not Kentucky guess.

Dec 25, 2010 · In muzzleloading the .45 is considered a medium caliber. The lightest projectile in this caliber is a patched round ball. In the typical light-weight rifles that a young hunter can handle (6-7 lbs. with 28-inch barrels) I recommend 85 grains of FFg GOEX black powder and a patched round ball for well placed shots in the heart-lung area at 50 yards and less. Jun 15, 2018 · As far as fouling goes, it is a godsend. We found that even after 30 or 40 shots, bullets still loaded with relative ease. There was none of that nasty vertical stringing either. Shots were very consistent from the very first to the last; if you held in the black, that’s where the shot hit.

Aug 11, 2017 · I shot loads out of rifles using black MZ & experienced no such wildly varying velocities. Shot doves using a cylinder bore N.R. Davis shotgun. No cleaning until we were done for the day. I have actually shot the stuff myself, not talking about just something I read. I really can't fit a hard nitro card in past a full choke Rem-Choke tube.

Dec 21, 2020 · I shot a buck with my muzzleloader last year. But I’m not sure a hunter from the 1970s would say I was muzzleloader hunting when I did it. Now we can use not just modern rifled muzzleloaders, but high-walled centerfire cartridges during the muzzleloader season. Snap 1 or 2 primers to put fouling in the bore. Run a dry patch down and out to distribute fouling in bore. Look thru bore and make sure flash hole is open in plug. Load and shoot or load and go hunt.

During my test, I shot 5 shots using a 100gr load and 5 shots of a "max" load of each propellant and Blackhorn 209 produced significantly less fouling than both the 777 and Goex black powder.Clean Shot Technologies made the mistake of infringing on Hodgdon's pellet patent. Hodgdon complained about the theft of their intellectual property, the courts agreed, and Clean Shot was no more. It is fair to say that Clean Shot was a fairly peculiar company, with sales offices in Florida, and leased production equipment in Colorado.
